Duties:

Summary

Support loan officers on a specific lending team. Respond to both internal and external customer questions in the lender's absence. Independently, effectively and comprehensively research, analyze and underwrite CRE and C&I loans for a variety of geographic locations and industries. Other loan types include refinance, mortgages, construction and renovation loans, as well as term loans, lines of credit, asset-based, and equipment finance for all industries, incorporating bank policy and federal regulations into each analysis. Prepare loan presentations for loan officers to present to Chief Loan Officer, Senior and Executive Loan Committees. Will periodically present loan requests to the appropriate committee. Presentations require independent industry, economic and company research, financial statement spreads, construction funding, proforma and cash flow analysis and rental economics. May manage smaller loan relationships.

Essential Duties:

  • Provide support to the Lending Team with the expectation of increasing and managing a commercial loan portfolio.
  • Independently, effectively and comprehensively research, analyze and underwrite CRE and C&I loans for a variety of geographic locations and industries. Types of loans include CRE purchase, refinance, mortgages, construction and renovation loans, as well as term loans, lines of credit, asset-based, and equipment finance for all industries, incorporating bank policy and federal regulations into each analysis.
  • Calculate and analyze figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, ratios, commissions and percentages.
  • Understand and effectively convey the level of risk associated with each loan transaction and propose mitigants, if any.
  • Present loan requests to senior management and loan committees.
  • Orders appropriate credit reports and searches.
  • Prepare commitment letters, order and review loan documentation for closing.
  • Directly and effectively communicate with customers and professionals, diplomatically expressing an opposing opinion and asking questions as required.
    • Understand customer relationships in order to be able to respond to the customer, an employee or other professional in the absence of the loan officer.
    • Follow-up on past due loans and clearing exception items.
  • Effectively communicate information and respond to questions in one-on-one and small group situations with professionals, regulators and internal employees of the organization.
  • Monitor and recommend advances on construction loans and line of credit requests as required.
  • Assist loan officers with portfolio management, including loans that are maturing or past due, loan modifications, tracking items, overdrafts and information requests.
  • Accompany loan officers on customer calls, preparing prior to the call and updating lender on account and loan status, asking pertinent questions during the meeting, taking extensive notes for call memo preparation and following up with the customer, inspectors, accountant and other professionals regarding required documentation or questions.
  • May manage smaller loan relationships.
  • Manage customer data using Baker Hill software.
  • Manage loan maturity list for timely renewal.
  • Provide guidance and assist with the training of Junior Credit
  • Analysts in partnership with the Team Leader.
  • Independent completion of special projects as assigned.
  • Other related duties as may be assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree from accredited 4-year college with a minimum combined 9 credits in Accounting and Finance
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a bank, comparable training program or RMA credit training program desired.
  • Minimum 1year of experience working in a financial environment analyzing business and personal financial statements and tax returns; preparation of cash flows, rental economics, and researching economic data and a variety of resources to determine overall financial strength and future viability of the relationship being analyzed. This should include compiling the researched data into a comprehensive analysis for rendering decisions.
  • Experience and ability to work in a financial spreading system equivalent to Baker Hill
  • Must be bondable.

Scheduled Hours:

40 hours per week (Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm)
