Introduction:

Duties and Responsibilities:
This role will independently monitor and make decisions as to the disposition of account balances for purposes of account management, information reporting or money movement.
-Monitor/manage the daily liquidity of UMB Bank (average daily transaction amounts exceeding $15 billion) and perform related tasks with little supervision.
-Applies sound and independent judgment in the decisions to invest or purchase funds in overnight markets (Federal Funds or Repurchase Agreements) pay down or draw down against lines of credit, and settle the bank¿s daily obligations with the National Securities Clearing Corporation (NSCC), Depository Trust Company (DTCC), domestic bank accounts and central bank (Federal Reserve Bank).
-Coordinate with Treasury Management staff across multiple departments including managers of UMB Bank¿s investment portfolio, UMB¿s Corporate Treasurer, Securities processing areas, Loan Operations, Item Processing, Account Officers and Executive Management.
-Performs reasonableness tests to avoid unnecessary variances in balances, and determines, reports, and / or recommends adjustments when such variances occur.
-Processes transactions involving the movement of money between internal UMB accounts or from UMB accounts to accounts at other banks, ensuring that they process accurately and on a timely basis. This dollar amount daily exceeds hundreds of millions of dollars.
-Ensures documentation is adequate to support activity.
-Prepares various statistical reports, and other unique reports as may be assigned by management, including reports for Senior and Executive Management of the company.
-Assist customers and other Bank personnel with questions and problems related to various Treasury Management services.
-Must operate with little supervision based on thorough knowledge and application of procedures of the assigned position.
-Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:
-College degree in a relevant discipline and/or a history of bank operations experiences that includes a history of progressively more responsible positions
-Strong experience with one or more types of electronic payment systems for ACH and/or Wire Transfer, Securities Processing Operations or Portfolio Operations

Preferred Requirements:
-Experience with use of multiple computer platforms and applications

Minimum Knowledge and Skills:
-Demonstrates proficiency with the use of Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word
-Mastery of a highly automated environment involving the use of multiple computer applications, often simultaneously
-Demonstrates excellence at verbal and written communications and must be able to communicate with bank business partners and/or customers using terminology unique to the Treasury Management and/or electronic payments environment
-Demonstrates high level of organizational skills
-Demonstrates superior problem solving skills
-Demonstrates ability to independently exercise superior judgment in situations involving extremely large dollar amounts (hundreds of millions)
-Demonstrates capability of exercising decision-making skills in high profile situations.
-Knowledge of general commercial bank operation processing

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:
-Understanding of core functionality associated with ACH processing
-In depth understanding of the Fedwire system
-Mastery of the jargon associated with Securities Operations, Automated Clearinghouse and the Fedwire system
-Intermediate proficiency with the use of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access
-Enhanced understanding of the rules of the National Automated Clearinghouse (NACHA)
-Knowledge of "Money Market" instruments and operations
-Understanding of Securities Processing Operations
