Position Purpose:
Delivery Service Engineer I: This is an entry level position that assists experienced staff on long-term contractual transmission delivery and ancillary services, maintaining member load and generation interconnections, coordinating the Western co-supply deliveries and North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) compliance reporting. This position reviews and maintains, with managerial supervision, Basin Electric Power Cooperative’s (BEPC) portfolio of generation and load metering for the various Basin Electric metering arrangements with RTOs, transmission providers, bilateral agreements, and the membership agreements. The incumbent will assist in providing solutions in delivery services and accurately measuring Basin Electric’s loads and generation across a multiple transmission providers and regions. This position assist with services agreements, engineering and economic analysis, inventory, maintenance planning, reporting, troubleshooting, specifications and standards in multiple RTO markets and Balancing Areas.
Delivery Service Engineer II: This position is responsible to perform duties, under guidance of the supervisor and other experienced staff, relating to long-term contractual transmission delivery and ancillary services, member load and generation interconnections, Western co-supply power deliveries, and North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) compliance reporting. This position reviews and maintains, with managerial supervision, Basin Electric Power Cooperative’s (BEPC) portfolio of generation and load metering for the various Basin Electric metering arrangements with RTOs, transmission providers’ tariff, bilateral agreements, and the membership agreements. The incumbent will assist in providing solutions in delivery services and accurately measuring Basin Electric’s loads and generation across a multiple transmission providers and regions. This position assist with services agreements, engineering and economic analysis, inventory, maintenance planning, reporting, troubleshooting, specifications and standards in multiple RTO markets and Balancing Areas. This position applies standard practices and principles to specific situations; evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgement in making minor adaptations and modifications.
Qualifications:
Delivery Service Engineer I: To perform effectively in this position, the incumbent must have knowledge of general engineering practices and principles at a level acquired through the completion of a four-year degree in an Engineering Accreditation Commission/Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (EAC/ABET) accredited engineering program. Excellent analytical skills are required. The incumbent must be proficient with personal computers and Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, with an emphasis in Excel spreadsheets; must possess effective negotiation and teamwork skills; must demonstrate commitment to tasks; and must be able to work in a diverse work environment. A valid driver’s license is required.
Delivery Service Engineer II: To perform effectively in this position, the incumbent must have knowledge of general engineering practices and principles at a level acquired through the completion of a four-year degree in an Engineering Accreditation Commission/Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (EAC/ABET) accredited engineering program and three years of related engineering experience. Excellent analytical skills and an Engineering-in-Training (EIT) certificate are required. The incumbent must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, with an emphasis in Excel spreadsheets, and personal computers; must possess effective negotiation and teamwork skills; must demonstrate commitment to tasks; and must be able to work in a diverse work environment. A valid driver’s license is required.
Typical Physical/Mental/Environmental Demands: This position requires frequent sitting and standing/walking; and occasional reaching below and above shoulder level, use of keyboard/computer, bending, kneeling, lifting/carrying up to 10 pounds, and pushing/pulling up to 20 pounds. It also requires finger dexterity and hand coordination. This position requires good hearing and vision, and the ability to speak. It also requires the ability to develop plans, procedures and goals; present information to others; and work under stress to complete projects within deadlines. Travel will be required for this position and the incumbent must be able to operate a motor vehicle.
