Accounts Payable Accociate
SALARY: $23.63 per hour (Step 1) - $28.15 per hour (Step 11)
Salary determined from the School-Related Personnel (SRP) agreement
ASSIGNMENT: Administration
HOURS: 7.5 hours per day – 12 month position
CLOSING DATE: May 8, 2022
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and four (4) years of experience in maintaining financial accounts and records.
TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES:
- Prepare voucher packets including supporting documentation and approval for payment processing for vendors;
- Establish and prepare warrant with supporting documentation for claims auditor;
- Maintain the vendor list;
- Maintain the accounts payable filing system;
- Research and resolve vendor issues;
- Assist in placing orders and maintaining inventory of supplies for the Business Office;
- Assist in making conference arrangements for staff;
- Produce correspondence as needed;
- Assist in the budget preparation processes by providing reports, account reconciliations and analysis;
- Check vendor invoices for accuracy;
- Performs related work as required.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS
AND ABILITIES: Applicants need knowledge of modern methods used in keeping and checking financial records and reports; ability to reconcile financial records and reports; thorough knowledge of double bookkeeping practices; knowledge of office terminology procedures and equipment; thorough knowledge of accounting terminology; ability to follow instructions; strong organizational skills; ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships; strong mathematical skills; strong customer service skills; ability to prepare correspondence and reports; ability to readily acquire familiarity with departmental organization, functions, laws, policies and regulations; high degree of accuracy and ability to meet deadlines; initiative; resourcefulness; good judgement; tact and courtesy; and integrity.
