Executive Director
Job Summary:
The Executive Director serves as chief administrative officer for the Board of Directors. Responsible for implementing policies and programs of the Inter-Tribal Council. Provide assistance to Tribal governments in the development of laws and regulations required by the federal government. Execute and manage contracts, grants, and commitments as authorized by the Board of Directors, or by established policies. Direct programs and services, evaluate their results and recommend possible changes in action to achieve program goals.
Job Specifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, Education or aligned field required.
- Strong financial background with knowledge of fund accounting required.
- Grant writing experience preferred.
- Previous supervisory experience required.
- Proficiency in computer literacy, preferably in Microsoft Office and other software.
- Must have excellent communication skills and able to give presentations before groups of people.
- Experience working with Native American organizations preferred.
- Criminal history background check required.
- Preference given to qualified Native Americans.
The Inter-Tribal Council of Michigan, Inc. (ITC) is a state chartered 501 C3 non-profit organization consisting of twelve federally recognized Indian Tribes in Michigan.
