Job Description:

Responsible for all routine accounting tasks including: all accounting transactions and reconciliations, monthly financial statement preparation, payables, outsourced payroll, financial support for the board, and annual tasks such as insurance renewal, budget, reserve study, dues invoicing, fiscal year-end (June 30) prep for CPA review

Candidates should be very strong in the following skills:

  • Basic accounting knowledge and financial statement prep
  • Knowledge and experience with Quickbooks
  • Knowledge and experience with payroll, receivables, payables, bank recons
  • Knowledge and experience with Excel spreadsheets
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Attention to detail, high level of accuracy
  • Managing own tasks and workload, calendar of accounting and financial activities
  • Resume required.

Work Schedule: Weekly hours vary seasonally, but averaged is less than 10 hours per week.

From May – August it is heavier due to annual billing, payment processing, fiscal year-end reconciliations and prep for annual CPA Review and tax filings on top of normal monthly and quarterly activities.  The accountant’s workload during this time can be done in 12 – 15 hours per week.

For September – April it includes all the normal monthly activities of payroll, AP, accounting and month end financial package prep.  We have an annual financial calendar of activities that the accountant drives which includes annual activities such as insurance renewal, budget process, reserve study, year-end payroll & 1099’s, etc.  The accountant’s workload during this time can be done in 10 hours per week or less.
