Lakewood United Methodist Church seeks a part-time (average 28 hours/week) Treasurer/Bookkeeper. Flexibility is available when the 28 hours are completed within the confines of a typical work week. Lakewood UMC is a vibrant church in North Little Rock, AR, with multiple worship services and numerous opportunities for discipleship. The ideal candidate works well with the church staff and congregation as a team player to complete the financial administrative duties of the church. Candidates should possess a positive attitude, strong work ethic, energetic personality, and self-motivation.
Qualifications and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Complete monthly denominational reporting and payment of financial obligations
Prepare monthly GAAP/FASB-compliant financial reports
Complete end-of-month journal entries
Prepare for the annual audit
Complete bi-weekly payroll
Complete weekly accounts payables tasks
Understanding of accounting principles.
Proficient computer skills, including MS Office suite, Google Workspace, cloud-based database software, email applications, and church management/accounting software.
Skilled with various office equipment, including telephone systems, copiers, and printers.
An excellent face-to-face, email, and telephone communicator.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Three (3) years of bookkeeping/accounting experience required.
