VIVA HEALTH, ranked repeatedly one of the nation's Best Places to Work by Modern Healthcare, has an opportunity for a Financial Analyst III. The Financial Analyst III is responsible for quantitative analysis related to a variety of areas including but not limited to premium revenue, fee for service medical expense, capitated medical expense, and provider contracts for multiple business lines including commercial and Medicare Advantage. The position will work as a data scientist to support the organization's need for analytics regarding overall corporate financial performance. The Financial Analyst will use critical thinking and problem-solving skills to assist in developing new approaches to complex business problems. This position will work with internal and external customers by researching, providing and interpreting key utilization and cost metrics. The Analyst will trend data, compare historical financial figures, make projections, and work with large data sets to pursue answers to complex questions. The Analyst will primarily use SQL to extract data and various mediums, such as Tableau, to present complex information in an easy-to-understand way. This position has work-from-home opportunities but requires occasional on-site work.

REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 5 years’ experience with financial analysis
- Proficiency with SQL and Tableau or other similar tools
- Ability to work under minimal supervision
- Ability to work in a team and influence others to drive change
- Very strong understanding of accounting concepts including accruals, revenue/expense recognition, budgeting, etc.
- Excellent background in creating models that utilize financial and non-financial data
- Extremely proactive in developing projects to create new insights into the business
- Ability to model ambiguous scenarios in order to guide strategic decisions
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet strict deadlines with a very high level of accuracy
- Willingness to work evenings and overtime to meet project deadlines
- Excellent customer service skills and a desire to be a team player
- Exhibited leadership ability and technical proficiency
- Able to learn new technology and develop useful reporting quickly
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of products
- Excellent data querying and analytical skills using SQL and the ability to present data using applications such as Tableau
- Excellent modeling (including pro forma and what-if analyses), interpretive and analytical skills using Excel
- Very high-level analytical skillset required with previous experience pulling, querying and analyzing very large amounts of data
- Previous data analysis and validation experience partnering with stakeholders with a strong knowledge of systems, processes and methodologies and the ability to communicate those to technical and non-technical audiences
PREFERRED:
- Master’s in Business Administration, Finance, Public Health, MIS, or related field
- Experience in the insurance or health care field, particularly in Medical Economics or Informatics
- Experience with other productivity tools such as Crystal Reports
